Animal sculptures: the manufacturing secrets that make them so adorable!
Have you ever wondered how Garden ID turns a simple block of resin into a beautiful animal sculpture for your garden? If so, you've come to the right place! In this article, we take you behind the scenes, where the magic happens. Prepare to be amazed!
The artist, the genius who brings our furry (and feathered) friends to life with a scalpel!
At Garden ID, we have talented artists who wield the scalpel like true animal art surgeons. Using photos and sketches, they form the clay to sculpt meticulously detailed models of our future garden inhabitants.
The mold, the alchemist who clones your favorite animals!
After immortalizing our animals in clay, our artists pass the baton to our mold masters. They apply several layers of latex to the clay sculpture, then solidify the whole with plaster. We now have a mold ready to give birth to an army of animal sculptures!
The production: a ride on the merry-go-round to bring our companions to life!
Finally, it's time for the grand finale: production! Unsaturated polyester resin is poured into the mold and, like a merry-go-round, it is turned by hand to distribute the material in a specific way. This production technique, known as "pressure molding", creates sculptures that are resistant to frost and UV rays, while reproducing the finest details. And that's how Garden ID creates animal sculptures as impressive as the real thing!"
What is unsaturated polyester resin?
Unsaturated polyester resin, an intriguing material, is used in a multitude of industrial and commercial applications to create objects as diverse as composites, corrosion-resistant coatings and molded parts. You'll find it in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, swimming pool design and furniture manufacture. The advantages? Corrosion resistance, durability, lightness and chemical resistance, to name but a few.
Mould extraction and refinement
Once the sculptures have been removed from the molds, it's time to extract and refine them! The craftsmen carefully remove the excess material and work on the finishing touches to ensure that each animal is rendered realistically and uniquely. Every detail counts!
Hand-painted
Finally, the finishing touch: hand-painting. Our artists use a multi-layer coloring method and have over 5,000 colors at their disposal to create all the nuances required. The paint used is specially designed to withstand outdoor conditions such as UV rays, humidity and extreme temperatures. Each animal comes to life thanks to the precision of the paint, offering a uniquely realistic effect.
So, are you ready to plunge into this incredible universe where unsaturated polyester resin and die-casting combine to create animal sculptures of unparalleled beauty and realism?
